Trip Overview
When it comes to mountain panoramas and sunrises over Annapurna’s mountains, there is no location like Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. The Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is well-known for providing spectacular vistas of the world’s tallest mountains while requiring little exertion on your part.
This is an entry track for Himalayan trekking that does not require acclimatization, which is one of the main reasons it attracts trekkers from all over the world. Poon Hill (3210 m) is the trekking’s highest point, with a 180-degree vista of saw-toothed, towering mountains.
Pokhara is the starting point for the Ghorepani Poonhill trek. Pokhara is the entrance to Annapurna and one of Nepal’s most picturesque cities. We start our hikes from Nayapul, which is around 2 hours distant, after spending some time filming the beautiful Pokhara.
We stroll on both man-made stairs and pathways carved out on the ridges of the hills that lead to lush green knolls coated by gorgeous Rhododendron of various hues, which intermingle with picturesque towns inhabited by indigenous Gurungs and Magars. Although each visit is noteworthy, the most notable points of interest are Ghorepani and Poon Hill.
Ghorepani which implies horse water was a celebrated rest range for steeds at the time of the antiquated Silk Street exchange and Poon slope is an early morning climb from Ghorepani which is well eminent for its all-encompassing sees of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.
The warm and inviting individuals of the locale, unaltered culture and standards, and eternal religious communities, and the warm nearby cooking make the trip exceptionally delightful. Himalayas truths occasions will weave a completely bother-free itinerary, even in a time crunch, to form this a lifetime memorabilia.
Further info about Ghorepani Poonhill Trek
This journey has distinct beginning and finishing places, just like the other hiking routes in the Annapurna Sanctuary Park. The most common route is to begin in Nayapul and conclude in Ghandruk (we walked this route as do most hikers), with a total rise of 3000 meters and a total descent of 1996 meters.
You may also do it the opposite way around, starting in Ghandruk and ending in Nayapul, as shown on the graph; this way, you’ll gain less elevation and gain more descent than the Nayapul – Ghandruk option; around 2000 m up and 3000 m down.
Both settlements have jeeps and buses that take you to Pokhara. Note! If it rains heavily, the route from Ghandruk becomes quite muddy, and buses to Pokhara may be unavailable. You may hike from Ghandruk to Kimche (4 km longer and 300 meters lower) or all the way to Kande through Australian Camp (plus 16 km and quite a lot of up and down extra).
Solo trek for Ghorepani Poonhill Trek
When it’s feasible, we prefer to trek alone since it’s more fun to discover our own path. Organize our own lodging, carry our own bags, and so on. We realize that some individuals prefer to relax and enjoy their vacation. Without having to plan too much or worry if something goes wrong. It is far easier to arrange the Poon Hill trip than it is to organize the Everest Base Camp trek itinerary.
